Jamie Oliver

This guy is doing an amazing thing for the US nation. Literally, I believe America does have a “fast food and super-size it” philosophy, which is not one bit healthy. His show “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” is inspirational, I encourage to watch it on abc.com. He is in Huntington, West Virginia, which has the highest obesity rate in the nation, and he is showing these residents healthier ways of eating, and how to prepare healthy food. As he says, “It is a common sense process”, and he is 100% correct. His goal is to transform a 1000 people in the city into eating healthier and show them healthier options. Let me tell you, I hate cooking shows, but this show literally brings tears to your eyes. It is amazing what this man is doing, and I hope others in our nation will step up and join the food revolution.

I laughed so hard at this

*Sorry if this offends anyone, there is profanity.*

I have to agree with his comment on birds, why do they have to get up so early?

What if I was royal?

So I was watching NBC’s Who Do You Think You Are, and I was thinking if I trace my name back to my ancestors what I would find. I did and I found out that my ancestors were surprisingly awful people, not like murders but rather thieves! …I was oddly hoping to be like an illegimate child of Henry IV or Charles V, but thieves made me more intrigued. Thus I did research into my Italian heritage and I saw my relatives were Sicily, naturally I asked my parents for more details. THEN I shockingly discovered that during the potato famine in Ireland my relatives went to Ireland to raided farms and claim the land of people that died from the famine. In the end, the point of this rant is that sometimes you leave the past in the past for a reason.

Starbucks – buying a brand

“I will have a venti mocha coffee”

- “Ok that will be $5.06”

Ummm that’s alittle pricy, so why not switch to Dunkin Donuts, well the reason is because of the brand and the atmosphere. When you are a girl walking around with a starbucks coffee, you in a sense feel mature, because you see all the grownups and friends in college walking around with them also. It is kind of like a club, and you do not want to be left out. The coffee cup with the logo of Starbucks is like the secret handshake or password. The brand is a representation of a bunch of things such as high society and organic products, etc.

However the only reason I ever seem to go to starbucks is because of the atmosphere. I feel like there I can always go and have a relaxing place to write a paper, chat with friends to catch up, or play dominoes…which I have done with some people. Unlike places like Dunkin donuts, you can’t get work done it is more of a place to pick up coffee and just walk out. So Starbucks although expensive, is doing pretty well in the public eye.
